Les Abbenhouse was interned during WW II in CPS Camp 21, Cascade Locks, OR. “I came out of that experience feeling deeply indebted to society. Because there was an agency in society that made this experience possible, the three peace churches: the Brethren, the Mennonites, and the Quakers.... My experience in camp was hugely enlarging and illuminating for me. I had an opportunity to think about things I had not thought about before.”
