Lloyd Brandt was interned during WWII in CPS Camp 56, Waldport, OR, and CPS Camp 21, Cascade Locks, OR.
"I do not recall any time that as a family, or individually, that we sat down and talked about being a Conscientious Objector, or that stand. But it was there. My folks lived it, and that was the teaching that came across if a discussion came up, as to whether this was good or bad, or not, and why. They got their point across but it was done so subtly that I do not recall any time that there was pressure on me to be a Conscientious Objector. And when it came time for me to register, there was just no question. I registered Conscientious Objector. And that was my stand all the way through. It still is."
