Loyd Schaad was interned during WW II in CPS Camp 21, Cascade Locks, OR.
"It's the only way of living [being a Pacifist]. As a sincere Christian. It's the only way I could live. I could never think of taking up arms.... I was really pleased with my stand to be a CO, and my wife supports me fully.... Both sides lose in war. I don't support any war. [Conflict] should be settled peacefully, it should be settled over a peaceful table. Never by arms. Never by killing or the destruction of life."
